New York Giants star out for the season in massive blow for struggling NFL team

Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas is expected to miss the rest of the NFL season with a Lisfranc injury in his foot, it has been reported.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Thomas had surgery on the injury Wednesday morning.

The 25-year-old was a second-team All-Pro in 2022 and will be sorely missed on quarterback Daniel Jones’ blind side.

The injury came during the Giants’ loss to the Bengals on Monday night.

Rapoport had previously reported that Thomas was meeting with renowned foot expert Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte.

Andrew Thomas is expected to miss the rest of the season for the Giants in a major blow

It’s unfortunately the second straight season in which Thomas has struggled with injuries, as he also missed seven games last year.

Through six games this season, the Giants are just 2-4 and and have struggled to put points on the board.

At just 16 points per game, the Giants have the fourth-worst scoring offense in the league – with only the Browns, Patriots and injury-riddled Dolphins trailing them.

With a pivotal home game against the rival Philadelphia Eagles this weekend, it is now expected that Josh Ezeudu will move into Thomas’ spot at left tackle.
