Following the New York Liberty defeating the Las Vegas Aces 82-63 in the WNBA Commissioners Cup, Liberty superstar Sabrina Ionescu took to social media to say the sneakers she wore in the game were stolen from Michelob Ultra Arena.

The announcement was in fact more of a plea for the return of the custom-made insoles that were inside her signature ‘Sabrina 1s.’ The shoes had been made with specifically modified feet due to her previous injury history, according to WNBA reporter Khristina Williams.

Williams also said a source familiar with the situation stated Ionescu believes the shoes were taken after the Commissioners Cup game or in the morning before shoot around. The shoes were locked in a room next to the guest locker room that only certain arena and team staff members had access to.

‘Never thought I would get my shoes stolen from an opposing arena…,’ Ionescu posted on Thursday about half an hour after the shoot around ended before another game against Las Vegas.

‘Please just bring me my insoles back. RIP to my Sabrina 1s’
