The New York Met’s general manager reportedly threw a chair during an intense coaching staff meeting following the teams Friday’s 7-2 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies, a source said. 

Brodie Van Wagenen, 45, had been screaming at manager Mickey Callaway and the coaching staff for what he felt was a waste of Jacob deGrom’s strong performance during the game.

Assistant general manager Allard Baird was also said to be in attendance at the meeting, a source informed the New York Post.

Wagenen would not confirm or deny the report when reached on Saturday. 

‘We as a staff often meet with coaches and players throughout the course of the season,’ he said. ‘I am not going to give the specifics to any of those meetings.’

The Mets’ have had a tumultuous season, with Wagenan firing pitching coach Dave Eiland and bullpen coach Chuck Hernandez last month. 

He claimed poor performances in their firings and hired Phil Regan and Ricky Bones to replace them.

The Mets and Phillies play each other on Saturday.
