Alexander Isak put the Magpies ahead at St James’ Park after Lewis Miley’s assist before Raheem Sterling levelled with a stunning free-kick in the first half.

Jamaal Lascelles and Joelinton scored a goal each inside two minutes around the hour mark.

Blues captain Reece James was sent off for a foul on Anthony Gordon after 73 minutes and ten minutes later the young winger grabbed Newcastle’s fourth goal.
