Newcastle road rage assault caught on camera

A man has been assaulted in the middle of a road following a suspected road rage attack north of Sydney.

The shocking incident was caught on camera at around 5:30pm on Wednesday at Windale, south of Newcastle. 

The video shows the man being repeatedly kicked and punched in the middle of the road by a group of people, after he crashed his car into a fence.

The man, thought to be in his forties or fifties, can be seen trying to shield his face as the group stands over the man and attack him.

The witness posted the video on Facebook and wrote: ‘Meanwhile in downtown Windale they teach them young about road rage. Disgusting to say the least’. 

The video has been viewed nearly 60,000 times. 

A young boy repeatedly fly-kicks the man’s car while at least six people continue to viciously hit the man in the the road.

Eventually the man is able to get up from the floor and walk towards his car.

It’s thought the man was driving erratically before crashing, and police are reviewing the footage.
