Newcastle players were forced to adjust to winter weather after training in the snow on their return from a warm-weather training camp in Saudi Arabia.

The Magpies travelled to Riyadh for the camp, with Eddie Howe’s side returning on December 10 after a week in Saudi Arabia’s capital.

The trip was Newcastle’s second to the country since the controversial takeover led by the Saudi Public Investment Fund.

Howe, who said the visit to Saudi Arabia was the best thing for the team during the World Cup break, saw his side earn a 5-0 win over Al-Hilal during the trip.

Newcastle have since returned to Tyneside, with the squad seen being put through its paces at their Benton training ground.

Sven Botman, Joe Willock, Miguel Almiron and Chris Wood were among those seen braving the winter weather as Newcastle prepare for the resumption of the club season.
