A Minneapolis news anchor is recovering after losing part of her leg in a boating accident last week.
Fox 9’s Courtney Godfrey and her husband, Ryan Novacyk, were boating on Christmas Lake in Chanhassen, Minnesota, on September 15th.

‘It was a freak accident,’ she said Friday to the Star Tribune after leaving the hospital.
The boat’s propeller took her food off but doctors said they had to also amputate her lower leg.
‘It’s traumatic,’ said the 30-year-old.

‘It changes things for you — at least briefly.’
But Godfrey is optimistic and looking towards the future.
She added: ‘I may have lost a leg, but I’m still me. I’m not going to let this get me down.
‘I’m not going to let this stop me from being who I am or who I was before the accident … from snowboarding, to wakeboarding to rollerblading to reporting the news.’
