NFL fans wasted no time tearing into Rodney Harrison after the former Patriots man ripped into Xavier Worthy – only for the Chiefs rookie to score a touchdown with his touches in the NFL.
‘Xavier Worthy is this little skinny guy, he doesn’t scare me. I know he’s fast but he doesn’t scare me,’ Harrison said before the Chiefs started the season Thursday night against Baltimore Ravens. Harrison is currently in Brazil ahead of Philadelphia Eagles vs Green Bay Packers on Friday night.
Worthy wasted no time in making Harrison, a two-time Super Bowl winner in his career with the Patriots, eat his words at Arrowhead Stadium.
Collecting the ball from Patrick Mahomes, Worthy blasted his way into the end zone from 21 yards to send Arrowhead Stadium wild and level the scores at 7-7 in the first quarter.
And it wasn’t just just Chiefs fans who wanted to mock Harrison as Worthy went over the line as thousands of NFL fans piled in on social media.

‘It took all of 5 plays for Rodney Harrison to look like a fool with this pregame comment,’ said one fan, while another wrote: ‘I’d rather my wide receiver score touchdowns than be feared by Rodney Harrison, but that’s just me.’
A different viewer wrote on X: ‘Rodney Harrison was always my favorite player as a kid but he is a objectively bad analyst.’
The Chiefs drafted Worthy in the first round this year and Worthy set a record for the 40-yard dash at the NFL scouting combine.
The Chiefs had to trade up the draft order with the Buffalo Bills to select Worthy from Texas.
The Chiefs sent the 32nd pick along with a fourth-rounder and seventh-rounder to the Bills for No. 28, a fourth-rounder and a seventh-rounder.
Many at the time felt Worthy finally gave Mahomes the kind of speedy deep threat that he had not had since Tyreek Hill left for Miami Dolphins – an ominous attacking tool as the Chiefs line up a shot at the first ever ‘three-peat’ in the Super Bowl era.
