Houston Texans safety Jimmie Ward was arrested by cops in the early hours of Thursday morning after an incident at his home.

Records from Montgomery County Jail say the 33-year-old Ward, on a $4.5million-a-year salary, was arrested at the scene shortly after 5:30am. He is held without bond.

‘We are aware of the report involving Jimmie Ward,’ Omar Majzoub, the senior director of communications for the Texans, said in a statement to the Houston Chronicle.

‘We are gathering more information and have no further comment at this time.’

Ward has spent most of his career with the San Francisco 49ers, who picked him in the first round of the 2014 Draft.

He played in the 2024 Super Bowl that they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.

He joined the Texans in 2023 on a two-year, $10.5m deal that got extended by a year in 2024.

He played 10 times for the team last year, recording 48 tackles and two interceptions, but his season ended early with a foot injury that required surgery.

His recovery is still ongoing and he was not able to participate in the team’s mandatory minicamp this week.
