NFL wide receiver Xavier Legette enjoyed an unconventional meat during his family’s Thanksgiving meal on Thursday.
The Carolina Panthers player was asked what he’d be feasting on after practice by teammate Robert Hunt.
And while most Americans tucked into some turkey, Legette said he was looking forward to eating raccoon.
‘Man, what I’m mostly excited to eat today, is gonna be that raccoon,’ he said in an Instagram story.
‘My cousin called me up last night, told me they killed the raccoon two days ago. They took the clothes off and everything – washed him up. Yea, we bout’ to dive into that today.’

Legette has enjoyed a promising rookie year with the Panthers, as he’s caught four TDs
Legette, a rookie out of South Carolina, has gone viral on several occasions this season on account of his thick country accent.
On one such occasion, the self-described picky eater explained how he was hopeful of finding food to eat in Germany during the team’s trip to face the Giants abroad.
‘I just starting eating asparagus,’ he said in his thick country drawl.
He later sampled some German delicacies for local broadcaster RTL and appeared to enjoy some sausages.
On the field, the No. 32 overall pick in this year’s draft has enjoyed a promising rookie year, as he has 340 receiving yards and four touchdowns with six games left to play.
Legette and the Panthers will host the Buccaneers this weekend.
