A celebrity fisherman who was part of the cast of the reality TV show Wicked Tuna has died.
Nicholas ‘Duffy’ Fudge was only 28 years old when he died Thursday and a cause of death has not been released.
The Remick & Gendron Funeral Home confirmed to The Associated Press the Greenland, New Hampshire, native had passed.
The National Geographic Channel show follows several Gloucester, Massachusetts-based boats that try to land bluefin tuna.
The fish can weigh hundreds of pounds and fetch tens of thousands of dollars.
Duffy was the first mate on Capt. Tyler McLaughlin’s fishing vessel, Pinwheel.
He also appeared on a spinoff series, Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks.

Duffy began tuna fishing as a child with his father and grandfather and after becoming one of the top sports fishermen in the country, he earned a place on Wicked Tuna for multiple seasons.
According to his obituary: ‘Nick was always the coolest kid, but he had a way of making you feel like you were just as cool.
‘His presence could light up any room and he had a heart of gold. He was known for his smile, his fearlessness, his adventurous spirit, his mischievous sense of humor, and giving big hugs.’
National Geographic posted on Facebook that it joins Duffy’s family and friends in mourning his ‘untimely loss.’
