Nick Kyrgios in playful mood with girlfriend Costeen Hatzi as Aussie tennis bad boy gears up for Wimbledon after injury hell
- Nick Kyrgios practiced on Wednesday ahead of Wimbledon
- The Aussie has played just one game all year after struggling with a knee injury
- Kyrgios underwent knee surgery in January and may not be fit for Wimbledon
Nick Kyrgios looked in a relaxed mood as he trained at Wimbledon with his girlfriend Costeen Hatzi keeping a close eye on proceedings.
The Australian made the Wimbledon final last year – his first appearance in the final of a Grand Slam tournament – where he was eventually beaten in four sets by Novak Djokovic.
His appearance at the All England Club this year, however, remains in doubt after he pulled out of lead-up events the Halle Open and Mallorca Open due to his lingering knee injury.
But the 28-year-old was spotted practicing at Wimbledon on Wednesday afternoon, just five days before the start of the tournament.
He was joined by Hatzi and the couple looked to be smiling and joking during a break in training.

Kyrgios has played just one match this year after undergoing surgery to address the injury that ruled him out of the Australian Open in January.
The Aussie star sensationally withdrew from the tournament because of a knee injury, just a day before he was due to play his first-round match against Roman Safiullin.
During an emotional press conference at Melbourne Park, Kyrgios’ physiotherapist Will Maher explained a routine MRI that was done after Kyrgios suffered discomfort in his knee revealed that he has a tear in his lateral meniscus and a cyst.
‘There’s a parameniscal cyst growing in his left meniscus, which is the result of a small tear in his lateral meniscus,’ he said.
‘Even at that stage it was still worth persevering to see if we could do anything to get him back on court.’
Earlier this month, Kyrgios pulled out of Halle as he continued to nurse discomfort in his knee and subsequently withdrew from the event in Mallorca last week.
‘Super disappointed that I can’t compete in Mallorca,’ he said in a video post.
‘I’ve still got a lot going on with my body at the moment and with Wimbledon just around the corner hopefully I will be able to get healthy for that.’

The 28-year-old has only played one match this season, earlier this month in Stuttgart, where he was beaten by Wu Yibing, and felt pain in his knee on almost every point.
When asked if Kyrgios was fit to play at Wimbledon, Tennis Australia chief executive Craig Tiley said ‘he is’, but clarified he would know better once he spoke to him in London this week.
‘Nick loves the grass,’ Tiley said on Tuesday.
‘He was in the final and I was there pretty much for every one of these matches along the way and he got better and better as the event progressed – he does on grass.
‘He loves that surface. He loves competing out there and I know he wants nothing more than to be ready to play Wimbledon.’
