Nicola Peltz reveals the savage reason why she had to cut husband Brooklyn Beckham’s cameo from her new movie: ‘He was really upset he ended up on the chopping block’

Nicola Peltz has revealed she was forced to cut her husband Brooklyn Beckham’s cameo from her new film Lola in a savage admission.

The actress, 29 – who wrote, directed and stars in the drama – admitted that Brooklyn was left ‘really upset,’ but his appearance wasn’t up to scratch.

Speaking in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Nicola explained how her husband ‘ended up on the chopping block.’

She admitted: ‘Brooklyn is actually really upset that he did get cut from his one little cameo.

‘He had one line, “Hi,” but he kept saying it in a British accent and he was staring directly into the camera, I was like “Oh God, we have to move on, good lord.”

Nicola added: ‘So, Brooklyn ended up on the chopping block. But I couldn’t have done any of this without him because he was such a massive support to me every day on set which I’m so appreciative of.’

While appearing on The Today Show earlier this week, she revealed that before penning this screenplay she always considered her writing to be ‘more of a private thing.’

‘I never planned on directing Lola,’ the actress confessed. ‘I always wanted to direct in the future. But, my producer was really the one that gave me enough confidence to go for it.’

‘All I knew was that I really wanted a female to direct this. That was something that was really important to me.’

She also admitted to being inspired by the friendships in her life to write some of the characters, including the protagonist Lola James’ best friend Babina (Raven Goodwin).

‘It’s based on Ange,’ she said, nodding to her longtime pal, Angela, who is a fixture on her Instagram. ‘She and I have been best friends since we were 14.’

When asked about how she navigates her mother and father-in-law’s fame, Peltz raved about her relationship with David and Victoria Beckham.

‘I come from a big family, where we’re all so so close, and, having an even bigger family, and Brooklyn grew up also close with his family…I feel so lucky,’ she gushed.
