Nicolas Jackson completes Chelsea medical ahead of £32m move from Villarreal… with the striker set to agree an eight-year deal at Stamford Bridge
Nicolas Jackson has completed his Chelsea medical ahead of the Villarreal forward completing his £32million move.
The 21-year-old is due to agree an eight-year contract. The Stamford Bridge club still want Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo, also considered by Manchester United, and are looking to offset their spending with more sales this week.
Blues goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, meanwhile, is poised to join Al Ahli, Hakim Ziyech is heading to Al Nassr while Kalidou Koulibaly completed his £17m move to Al Hilal.
The 22-year-old scored 13 goals last season in a breakthrough campaign at Spanish side Villarreal.
He scored nine goals in his last eight games, as the Yellow Submarine finished fifth in the LaLiga table.

Jackson is set to be Chelsea’s second summer signing following Christopher Nkunku’s arrival
Jackson’s release clause stands at £30m with the LaLiga side having asked Chelsea to pay the full fee up front.
Chelsea are now set to pay higher than the release clause, which will allow them to structure payments over time.
Jackson will provide much needed attacking reinforcement for Chelsea, with the Blues having struggled in front of goal last season.
Chelsea scored just 38 goals in the Premier League, which contributed to their 12th place finish.
Jackson had been due to move to the Premier League in January, after Bournemouth agreed a reported £21m fee for the forward.
The Cherries called off a move over concerns about a hamstring injury Jackson had suffered.
Jackson now looks poised to become Chelsea’s second signing of the transfer window.
The Blues have already confirmed the arrival of Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig for £53m, after the French forward signed a pre-contract agreement back in December.
