Nicole Kidman is getting back to work on the set of Lioness Season 2, sharing a new photo from the set.

Production got under way this season back in late May, just weeks after Paramount Plus issued a Season 2 renewal for the series.

It’s unclear if Kidman is just starting production now on this season, though she has been busy over the past few months, promoting projects like Netflix’s A Family Affair and Prime Video’s Expats.

The 57-year-old actress shared a snap of her in a baby blue business suit topped with a white cowboy hat as Yellowstone and Lioness creator Taylor Sheridan looked on.

‘Best cowboy hat ever… Thanks #TaylorSheridan & #Lioness. Season 2 is in full force xx,’ Kidman said in the caption of her post.

Lioness debuted in July 2023, inspired by a real U.S. military program, following Joe (Zoe Saldana), a CIA officer who is in charge of Lioness officers in the field.

The show follows her as she tries to balance her complex personal life with her professional life as the, ‘tip of the CIA’s spear in the war on terror.’

The program is overseen by Kaitlyn Meade (Kidman) and Byron Westfield (Michael Kelly), with the first season also focusing on a rookie agent named Cruz Manuelos (Laysla De Oliveira).

Cruz, a former Recon Marine, is tasked with befriending the daughter of a terrorist organization financier.

The show was renewed in May, which came with the announcement that Morgan Freeman – who appeared briefly in Season 1 – will be promoted to series regular.

He portrays U.S. Secretary of State Edwin Mullins, and will star alongside Saldana, Kidman, Kelly, De Oliveira.

Other returning Season 1 stars include Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton and Hannah Love Lanier.

Newcomers for Season 2 include Genesis Rodriguez in an unspecified role, with Thad Luckinbill promoted to a season regular as Joe’s CIA colleague Kyle.
