Nicole Kidman’s adopted children, son Connor and daughter Bella, are supporting the actress following the death of her beloved mother Janelle.
Bella, 31, and Connor, 29, have reportedly written a heartfelt note to Nicole after she revealed that her beloved mother died at the age of 84 – just hours before being awarded Best Actress for her role in Babygirl at the Venice Film Festival.
According to Woman’s Day, the actress is happy to hear from her children and would love to have ‘them back in her life’.
‘The most heartwarming thing has been for Nicole to get a joint message from Bella and Connor, who she’s not heard from in a very long time,’ a source said.
‘It’s kind of sad it took such a tragic moment to bring them back into her life, but she knows it would make her mum so happy if her passing brought her estranged grandkids back into the family.’
The source also said that Nicole is willing to take time out of her career to give her relationship with her kids ‘its best shot’.
Bella and Connor are the only children Nicole shares with her ex-husband Tom Cruise, with the pair adopting their daughter in 1992 and son in 1995.
The Hollywood couple got married in 1990 and divorced in 2001. Tom now shares daughter, Suri Cruise, 17, with ex-wife Katie Holmes, and Nicole went on to have two children, Sunday Rose, 15, and Faith Margaret, 13, with her second husband Keith Urban.

Little is known about Nicole’s current relationship with Bella and Connor as they reportedly stayed ‘loyal to their father’ following her split from the Top Gun star in 2001 – meaning they were raised in the controversial Church of Scientology.
Nicole has refused to talk about the religion or her family ties in recent year, but is said to have absent from many of her children’s life events, including Bella’s wedding at the Dorchester hotel in London in 2015, despite living in the city at the time.
The Big Little Lies star hasn’t been pictured publicly with her eldest two children since 2007, and she was reportedly left ‘devastated’ after the pair didn’t attend her father’s funeral in 2014.
In 2018, while accepting her Best Actress Golden Globe, the Nine Perfect Strangers star thanked her biological daughters and second husband Keith Urban – but didn’t mention Connor or Bella.
The actress rarely speaks about the pair, saying she wants to keep the relationship private, but has spoken of how they ‘picked scientology’ and ‘don’t call her mum’.
Connor and Bella also didn’t attend Nicole’s Life Achievement Award ceremony in Los Angeles in April.

‘Today I arrived in Venice to find out shortly after, that my beautiful, brave mother Janelle Ann Kidman has just passed,’ Nicole revealed in a statement read by director Halina Reijn upon her win.
‘I am in shock and I have to go to my family, but this award is for her, she shaped me, she guided me, and she made me.
‘I am beyond grateful that I get to say her name to all of you through Halina, the collision of life and art is heart-breaking, and my heart is broken. We love you all.’

Nicole has long had an incredibly close relationship with her beloved mother Janelle and often spoke about her support and influence on her career over the years.
Nicole was born in Honolulu and raised in Sydney by Janelle and her psychologist father Antony, who died in September 2014.
After spending time in the United States, the Moulin Rouge star and her younger sister Antonia spent much of their childhood in Sydney.
Nicole pursued her passion for acting when she was a teenager and was supported by both of her parents as she soared to global fame.
They both remained closely involved with her career over the years, with Nicole recently admitting she would still go to her mother for advice.
In November, the Big Little Lies star told how she would often ask her mother Janelle for advice on her outfits, despite working with a whole string of professional stylists.
In a sign of their close bond, Nicole told People: ‘My mother is still — she’s so involved in what I wear.’

Nicole had an equally close relationship with her father Antony and was left devastated when he died of a heart attack in September 2014 at the age of 75.
The Oscar-winning actress previously revealed that the ‘sudden’ death of her father, as well as a string of other losses, had deeply affected her.
‘I’ve been given death as a very sudden thing. I’ve not nursed someone through a slow death, I’ve just had people taken,’ she told the Sydney Morning Herald in 2020.
‘I’ve now had it happen repeatedly, I almost get scared saying it because I get terrified it’s going to happen again. I still have a lot of fear of that.’
