It’s a common problem on the beach – you’re in swimwear but there’s nowhere to keep some change for an ice cream.

Now Nike has come up with the answer – footwear with a small storage bag attached.

Its £37 ‘bumbag sandal’ has a small zip bag fastened to the straps, with enough room for car keys or small change.

The poolside ‘slides’ received mixed reactions online, however. One critic, using the US term for a bumbag tweeted: ‘Nike’s fanny pack slides. Just no.’

But some were more taken by their practicality. One online commenter tweeted: ‘Fanny pack sandals by Nike is genius and revolutionary.’
