Niklas Sule’s superb last-ditch goal line clearance denies Kylian Mbappe a goal after the winger produces stunning solo run to go through on an open goal during PSG’s Champions League clash against Dortmund

Niklas Sule pulled off a stunning goal line clearance to deny Kylian Mbappe a goal after the PSG winger had gone through on goal during their Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund.

The Bundesliga outfit came into the match top of Group F, with the Parisians trailing them by three points.

A win would see PSG go through to the knockout stages of the tournament, and their World Cup winning star could have put them a goal up, but for the heroics of Sule.

It was a lovely move from the Parisians, with Lucas Hernandez playing a stunning long pass up to Mbappe.

Initially, Sule appeared to lose Mbappe under the long pass, with the 24-year-old collecting the ball, turning and advancing towards the penalty area.

Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel advanced out of his net to meet the Frenchman, but Mbappe tapped the ball to his left, weaved past the keeper and set himself up in front of an open net.

He struck a low left footed shot towards the goal, but Sule, who had backtracked around 25 yards, slid in and stopped the shot with a spectacular last-ditch effort.

It was a sensational piece of defending, with the German international crashing into the back of the net, before standing up to receive an embrace from his team-mate, Mats Hummels.
