Nina Dobrev channels Rainbow Brite while skiing in Aspen

She is best known for playing tortured on-again off-again vampire Elena Gilbert in The Vampire Diaries.

But Nina Dobrev, 28, showed she isn’t afraid of embracing her lighter side either when she stepped out in the Colorado resort town of Aspen in a colorful ensemble on Saturday.

 The actress wore a rainbow-themed ski jumpsuit that elicited memories of 80s children’s cartoon character, Rainbow Brite.

The Let’s Be Cops star wore a mostly white jumpsuit that was highlighted by rainbows around the midriff, necks, elbows and knees.

Her straight brunette tresses were hidden under a white beanie and she wore distinctive round framed sunglasses to beat the winter glare. 

Dobrev carried a brightly patterned snowboard and on her feet the starlet wore Jimmy Choo winter boots.

Although the Bulgarian-beauty hid her phenomenal physique under the shapeless jumpsuit, Nina makes sure to actively working out.

Nina told Teen Vogue: ‘I have a really, really great group of girlfriends that are all interested in the same things, which is being healthy, and being active, and doing fun things and not sitting around and waiting for opportunities but making them for yourself.’

‘By surrounding myself with those people, those good people and that good energy, it makes me a better person and it makes me want to do more in my life.

‘I feel like if everyone did that more, they’d get out more, they’d have more experiences they’d be more active and they’d feel better about themselves.’
