A nine-year-old girl was almost kidnapped outside a school on Thursday after two men followed and grabbed her.

The schoolgirl was walking along Heffron Street in Tweed Heads, south of Gold Coast, at 8.30am when she was approached by the two males.

One of the men grabbed her around the waist before she wriggled free and ran to school, where she alerted a teacher, Queensland Police said.

Officers want to speak to the two men who are believed to be aged between 20 and 30 years old.

One of the man had dark skin, brown hair and had a silver nose ring. He was wearing a dark blue T-shirt, black trousers and black shoes.

The other man was white with short brown hair. He also had a nose piercing and a tattoo on his ankle. He was wearing a black T-shirt, black long shorts and black shoes.
