These Korean pop stars certainly got top marks for effort as they tried to get the locals on side in Texas.

But they ended up failing to hit the right note thanks to an embarrassing gaffe.

Six-piece girl group STAYC had planned to win over the audience in Dallas by wearing the kit of local baseball team Texas Rangers.

However, the singers made a major faux pas when they turned up wearing retro Glasgow Rangers strips.

They went on stage in a shirt from the 1996/97 season, worn by legends such as Paul Gascoigne and Brian Laudrup as the club won their ninth league title in a row.

But the blunder did not go unnoticed with Rangers fans taking to Twitter to discuss the band’s fashion choice.

One user posted: ‘Rangers are the kings of K-Pop.’

They are not the first Korean band to be spotted in Glasgow football tops.

Two members of nine-piece boy band Stray Kids wore Celtic shirts in a 2018 music video for their song My Pace.
