Noah Lyles admits Cole Hocker’s sensational 1500m Olympics win had him ‘screaming my head off’ after dramatic late dash to win gold

USA star Cole Hocker came from behind to win a dramatic 1500m race at the Olympic Games, leaving 100m king Noah Lyles ‘screaming his head off’.

Hocker produced a late dash on the final stretch to see off Britain’s Josh Kerr in Paris, while his American teammate Yared Nuguse took the bronze in third place.

After his victory, Lyles – who won gold in the men’s 100m sprint at the weekend – took to social media to heap praise on his compatriot while admitting the race got him extremely animated.

He wrote on X: ”That was an amazing 1500! Cole Hocker you Got me screaming my head off!’
