  • This is the terrifying instant where three children are almost hit by truck
  • They step into the path of the lorry, but the driver manages to stop in time
  • The driver of the 7.5-tonne lorry said: ‘They were all shaken by the near miss but, after a few minutes they were all fine and I went on my way’

This is the nail-biting moment a quick-thinking lorry driver slams on the breaks just in time when children step into the road.

Dashcam footage shows the three youngsters walking into the truck’s path, before the fully-loaded vehicle comes to a halt.

The close call was recorded on a road in North Walsham, Norfolk, last week.

The woman in the footage follows the children in terror and puts her hands up to the unnamed driver after the near miss, seemingly in apology.

The lorry involved in the almost-collision weighed 7.5 tonnes.

Although the children and mother were shaken, the driver said they were fine after a few minutes.

‘I did stop and check on the kids and mum.
