North London residents left baffled as filmmakers accidentally notify them of nearby filming on road 11 miles away, on the other side of the city

It was to be a tense scene in which a suspect was arrested and paramedics came to someone’s aid. And, for it to have the greatest impact, eight actors were hired, as well as a film crew of 22.

For the movie – currently known only as ‘Project Rabbit’ – the quiet Monson Road in south-east London would be made to resemble a real-life crime scene.

And with cast, crew and even replica emergency vehicles booked, all that needed to happen for filming to get the go-ahead from the local council was for the street’s residents to be informed.

But unfortunately, notification letters were sent to a completely different Monson Road – on the opposite side of the capital.

Residents of Monson Road in north-west London were surprised to be informed about an evening shoot that was due to take place this coming Tuesday – in a street 11 miles away.

One said: ‘I hope the residents of Monson Road in south-east London have received some notification letters, as they could come home from work to think a major incident has happened in their street.’

Given the track record of some of the staff of the film’s production company, Neon Picturehouse, Monson Road in London SE14 could be turned into quite the spectacle for the shoot.

One of the firm’s directors, Tito Fernandes, has worked on blockbusters such as Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Interstellar and Captain Phillips.

Fellow director at the London firm, Joseph Morel, was tight-lipped about the film when approached by the Mail.

He said there was a desire to ‘get production finished before we make any official announcements’.

But because the letters were sent out to the wrong Monson Road, the shoot has run the risk of not receiving council approval.

Previous films made by Neon Picturehouse include House Hunting, Epiphany and Serendipity. ‘Sounds like they’ve gone down a rabbit hole on this one,’ a resident of Monson Road, London NW10, said.

Mr Morel admitted the notification letters were sent to the wrong Monson Road, but stressed this had been rectified on the same day.

He said: ‘The letters were initially inadvertently delivered to the incorrect street. They were then delivered to the correct street immediately.

‘We are always careful to adhere to any stipulations that any councils levy with regard to street filming permits.’
