‘Officers attached to the South Coast Police District are investigating reports that the men may have been lying on the road when they were run over by a utility being driven by a 27-year-old man,’ said a spokesperson for NSW police.

Condie Crescent appears to be a quiet, suburban cul-de-sac so it is unclear how fast the driver was travelling or why they men would be lying in the road.

The driver has been taken to hospital to undergo mandatory drug and alcohol testing.

A crime scene has been established and inquiries into the cause of the crash are underway.

Last month, a 12-year-old boy in Nowra was lying in the road next to his bicycle when a ute ran him over and the driver fled the scene.

The boy was airlifted to Sydney Children’s Hospital where he was treated for fractures to his legs, pelvis and chest.

Investigators are still waiting to speak with the boy as it is unclear why he was lying in the road.
