Northampton boys, aged 15 and 16, and man, 38 arrested after teen dies

A murder inquiry is under way after the death of a 17-year-old youth in Northampton.

Police have arrested two boys aged 15 and 16 and a 38-year-old man in connection with the inquiry, after the victim was injured in a ‘tragic incident’ in the Kingsthorpe area.

Officers were called to Drayton Walk at 6.15pm on Friday and the teenager was taken to Northampton General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Chief Superintendent Kate Meynell, from Northamptonshire Police’s public protection command, said: ‘This is a tragic incident in which a young person lost their life.

‘It happened in daylight at a time when there will have been people around going about their business.

‘I am appealing for anybody who saw or heard anything or who knows anything about what happened in Drayton Walk yesterday evening to get in touch.’
