Northwestern FIRES Pat Fitzgerald amid hazing scandal fallout after school reconsidered the football coach’s two-week suspension
Northwestern has fired football coach Pat Fitzgerald in the wake of the finding from an investigation into the program’s hazing, according to a report.
The school commissioned a six-month probe led by attorney Maggie Hickey of law firm ArentFox Schiff into allegations of hazing within its football team.
The findings of the investigation were released Friday with Fitzgerald initially suspended for two weeks without pay following the release.
However, Northwestern has now revised its decision and fired the coach, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
