A Norwegian footballer left an interviewer stunned with a bizarre X-rated response when asked how he would celebrate his incredible long-range goal.

Ole Saeter scored an incredible long-range strike from around 40 yards on Monday to help his side Rosenborg defeat Sandefjord 2-0 in the country’s top flight.

Saeter’s strike was the opening goal of the game in the first match of the season in Norway’s premier divison and he was delighted as he wheeled away with his team-mates – and could not hide his joy after the game finished.

Emil Fredereiksen had made it 2-0 in stoppage time but Saeter won the headlines with his superb goal that he rifled into the top left hand corner from the middle of the pitch.

But Saeter was perhaps a little too overjoyed as he gave a shocking response after being quizzed on how he planned to spend his evening following the brilliant goal and victory.

‘I don’t remember [the goal],’ he begun.

‘I’m going home, phone in my left hand, c*** in my right hand, I’m going to enjoy myself. It will be a late evening.’

After his words caused a stir in his native Norway, Saeter apologised, with De Telegraaf reporting his quotes: ”If anyone found it offensive, I apologise. But that’s just the way I am.’

Fans were left both shocked and in stitches by Saeter’s unusual remarks, with one calling him a ‘legend’.

Another described him as an ‘icon’, adding: ‘They only breed icons at Rosenborg.’

Others uploaded memes to sum up their shock, while another joked ‘Norway that’s a real quote.’

Saeter is 28 and plays as a forward. He has played his entire professional career in Norway so far.

He has been with Rosenborg – who have won the Norwegian top flight a record 26 times – since 2021, scoring 23 times during that spell.
