A member of the Notorious Crime Family gang who pointed a revolver at a dog and pulled the trigger now claims he’s a changed man after finding God.

Jimmey Barkho, 32, pleaded guilty at Broadmeadows Magistrates Court in Melbourne on Tuesday to firearms charges, dealing in proceeds of crime and urinating in a police holding cell.

The underworld figure who was slapped with a firearm prohibition order in October 2019, was found to have breached the ban when police uncovered a USB drive as part of a separate investigation showing Barkho wielding a gun.

In one of the clips, he aimed a .38 caliber special Taurus-branded revolver at a French bulldog, which was being held by another man.

‘Where the money at?’ Barkho demanded in the video, before pulling the trigger, the Herald Sun reported.

The designer dog lived because the gun was not loaded, the court heard.

Another video showed Barkho posing with a 9mm CZ semi-automatic handgun in front of the bathroom mirror of his Greenvale home.

Investigators were immediately able to identify Barkho through his unique forearm tattoo as well his distinctive voice and he was charged in June, 2022.

During his arrest, he was taken to a cell at Broadmeadows police station where he urinated on the floor.

The cost of cleaning the cell was $434.50, police said.

After 33 days on remand – spent in solitary confinement – Barkho was bailed to a three month drug rehabilitation program.

It was there that Barkho decided to change his ways.

His lawyer, Mark Kelly told the court his client had addressed his drug addiction and rejected his criminal past after returning to his Christian faith.

Mr Kelly said Barkho had ‘genuinely changed his life’ and shown ‘significant insight’ into his previous behaviours and the affects it had on his family.

He also claimed to have cut ties with other members of the Notorious Crime Family gang.

He is now determined to be a good husband and father to his wife Mia Coory and their young daughter, Mr Kelly told the court.

Magistrate Stella Stuthridge told the court she saw a ‘real change’ in Barkho and that his discussions with a Community Correction Order assessor showed a ‘growing insight’.

Barkho avoided further jail time and was placed on a two-year CCO during which he will have to complete 120 hours of unpaid community work.
