Casey Anthony, 32, acquitted in 2011 for the murder of her two-year-old daughter Caylee, is delighted the defamation case from meter reader Roy Kronk was thrown out on Thursday
Roy Kronk (pictured) unsuccessfully claimed Anthony had instructed her lawyers to defame him in her murder case, having them suggest he was involved in Caylee’s death.
Casey Anthony, acquitted for the murder of her young daughter, is celebrating after an eight-year-long defamation suit against her was dropped.
Meter reader Roy Kronk, who found her daughter Caylee’s body in 2008, sued Anthony when her lawyers suggested during her 2011 murder trial Kronk was involved in the two-year-old’s death and had hidden her remains.
The 24-page ruling on Thursday by the United States Bankruptcy Court in Tampa, Florida ends the final legal problem Anthony faced following her acquittal.
In dismissing Kronk’s case, Judge Roberta Colton said there was not enough proof to show Anthony purposefully defamed Kronk.
Judge Colton said she felt Anthony had little influence over her lawyers and what they said about Kronk.
Anthony (pictured with daughter Caylee) is now free to do deals with television and book publishers. She told DailyMail.com, ‘I will one day need to get my side out’
She could also find no indication Anthony had told them to defame the meter reader.
Kronk’s lawyers have appealed the court’s decision.
Critics are concerned Anthony, 32, will now be able to make deals with TV production companies and book publishers without fear of losing any future earnings to Kronk.
‘God is great’ – Casey Anthony tells DailyMail.com in Twitter DMs she is delighted with the Kronk case ending and may tell her story in the future ‘I will one day need to get my side out’
Speaking to DailyMail.com through Twitter direct messages, Anthony said: ‘The only statement I have is. It is finally over. It has been a long road.
‘My faith in God saw me through. I never doubted for one moment that it would be dismissed. But..he is appealing..God is great!
“This is what Cays would have wanted..not this witch-hunt that has followed me since my acquittal. Now maybe others will move on. If not, then they are making it all about them for attention.. not my daughter!
‘I have no intentions on capitalizing off of this as of right now. Who knows what the future will hold. I will one day need to get my side out. But as of now, no plans to.”
Facebook groups such as ‘Casey Anthony Boycott Information’ sprang up following Anthony’s 2011 acquittal.
Its organizers warn TV channels and book publishers they will face being boycotted if they do a deal with Anthony for her story.
Facebook group Casey Anthony Boycott Information, which was set up following Anthony’s 2011 acquittal, warned Anthony ‘is free to start cashing in on Caylee’s murder’
The group writes: ‘This is a critical time, as Casey is free to start cashing in on Caylee’s murder, which she has been waiting to do for ten years!
‘We need to make Caylee’s voice heard loud and clear with media! No $$$ to Casey for anything! It will take everyone making phone calls, sending emails/letters, posting on Facebook and Twitter pages to any Media source and their sponsors, to halt this money train heading Casey’s way!
‘It will be a long hard fight, but with everyone’s help, we can be successful. When we are tired and feel that we are fighting a losing battle, we have to remember why it is important to push on…Caylee, the innocent baby who was murdered and thrown in a swamp to rot! Caylee never received justice! We can give her a small piece of that justice!
‘Who is ready? Who is willing to fight for Caylee and give her a little justice?”
Casey Anthony, pictured looking at a framed photo of daughter Caylee at her home in West Palm Beach, told DailyMail.com she is in fear for life
Anthony told DailyMail.com: ‘The boycott..I could care less about.’
But she said she is worried by fake facebook accounts purporting to be her.
She said the inflammatory statements on one particular facebook account bearing her name and face has made her fear for her life.
Anthony said: ‘I am in fear..yes..when people say things as she does it is like adding water to a grease fire..People want to seriously injure me with some of the things these fakes say.’
Anthony told DailyMail.com in Twitter DMs she felt in fear for her life from people ‘who want to kill me’ after fake facebook pages purporting to be hers publish inflammatory statements
On how she feels, she adds: “I would like to say ‘free at last’..If the fake pages that are playing me would STOP.
‘The statements they’re making are unreal..and anyone reading them will think I am a horrible monster, the degrading of my love for God..the mockery of my daughter.. and people are truly believing that is me.
‘It is not, I just want some sort of normalcy in my life. I get it..people will always hate me..but this profile could potentially cause me harm with the crap she posts.
“It Infuriates me, I know by her 3,800 followers which are more haters of mine, than supporters, it makes them wasnt to kill me, am I really free at last!’
