Nova star Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald looks dapper as he heads to court to defend himself wearing surprising accessory

Nova breakfast host Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald is preparing for his day in court, as he gets ready to fight a surprising offence.

The popular presenter, 47, shared a gallery of selfies to Instagram on Wednesday taken in an elevator, capturing him sporting a stylish navy suit as he heads to the courthouse.

Fitzy has an anxious expression in the snaps and revealed to fans he would be defending himself before the judge.

‘Going to represent myself in court for a parking fine. Is the mic piece too much?’ he began.

He then posted another selfie in which he sports a black tie rather than the light blue one he was previously wearing, and reveals he had an accident on the former one.

‘Spilled coffee on my tie, had to get a new one. #therainmaker,’ he added.

Parking fines in NSW are issued by local councils and defendants will be required to pay the full amount unless they can prove in court there was a valid reason behind the misdemeanor.

It comes after it was announced Ryan’s popular breakfast program Fitzy and Wippa with Kate Ritchie is set to receive a huge shakeup which insiders fear may threaten the dynamic of the show.

From early next year, long-time co-host Fitzy will be relocating to Adelaide with his family – but will continue to present the show remotely.

However, an industry insider is worried this move could impact the undeniable chemistry between the co-hosts and potentially turn away listeners.

‘Fitzy moving to Adelaide and doing the show from there is a huge risk. The chemistry is never the same when hosts are not in the same studio,’ they told Yahoo.

‘Nova will have to work hard to maintain the same energy so the long distance doesn’t convey on air.’

They added it was a particularly risky move because if the show loses listeners as a result, then the hosts contracts may not be renewed.

The show has been struggling for some time and it was reported earlier this month that since Kate Ritchie, 45, joined in March the program’s rating have been dwindling.
