Novak Djokovic cruises into the US Open third round with straight-sets win over Bernabe Zapata Miralles

Novak Djokovic overcame a spirited effort from Spain’s Bernabe Zapata Miralles to reach the third round of the US Open on Wednesday.

Djokovic dropped just six games en route to a straight-sets victory on the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

The 23-time Grand Slam winner – a three-time champion in New York – will now face No 32 seed Laslo Djere in round three. He remains on a collision course with world No 1 Carlos Alcaraz.
