Now Deliveroo will bring your takeaway dinner to the pub

Deliveroo has teamed up with pubs that don’t have kitchens so punters don’t ditch the bar for restaurants when they get hungry.

The online delivery firm already works with restaurants and pubs to offer customers takeaways, but is now reaching out to venues without their own menus.

Leicester’s live music space The Shed was one of the first to take advantage of the service as part of the food giant’s trial with 20 pubs.

Following the success of the trial, Deliveroo has announced it will expand the service in a 2018 roll-out, according to The Telegraph.

It confirmed partnerships with Belleville Brewing Company and Mondo Brewing Company – both of which are based in London – and Puzzles? bar in Peterborough.

Deliveroo, which is valued at more than £1,510,800,000, said the venture was sparked when bosses started noting a rise in food being ordered from pubs.

‘We’ve set up some great partnerships with several pubs and bars across the UK, offering the establishments access to Deliveroo branded items to help prompt visitors to order some delicious food to enjoy with their pint,’ a spokesman said.

As well as partnering with the midlands venue, the online food giant has announced it will be working with two London breweries

It could mean a whole new customer base for the company, whose service is restricted to within a certain distance of restaurants and takeaways.

Customers whose homes are too far away from their favourite eateries will now be able to use the app from the comfort of city pubs.

The British company has raised another £74.2million from investors, which include T Rowe Price and Fidelity Management and Research Company. This brings Deliveroo’s total fundraising to £364,151,000.

From tomorrow the firm will serve 200 cities as it launches in Cannes, France.
