MG said he was approached to star in Celebrity Survivor: Vanuatu in 2006.
‘At the time I was going to Advance Hair,’ said the 1991 Premiership winner, referring to the hair-loss treatment program.
‘I used to get laser therapy, and I also I used to have a “hair filler” where you put black powder on your head and put a hairspray on, so it looked like you had a full set of hair as well.’
He admitted he was scared about going into the water on the survival series, laughing: ‘My hair will wash away!’
His co-host Jess Eva then revealed she was paid less than $40,000 for her appearance on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! last year.

An SCA spokesperson said in a terse statement at the time: ‘SCA thanks Mooney for his contribution to the Triple M Network over the past five years.’
His exit came two weeks after he vanished from the airwaves without explanation, and amid rumours of a ‘major’ falling out with co-host Jess.

The radio program has since changed its name to Triple M Breakfast with MG, Jess & Pagey.
Entertainment reporter Peter Ford said an ‘internal’ issue had led to Mooney’s sudden departure.
‘My information – which is very well-placed – says to me that it was an internal, off-air workplace issue that has led to this disappearance,’ he said on The Morning Show.
