The footy star at the centre of a sordid group sex scandal with a former Penthouse pet claims he is the victim of an extortion attempt designed to smear his reputation.
Lingerie model and ex-stripper Belinda Medlyn, 35, revealed she had fallen pregnant after a raunchy fling with New Zealand rugby league star Bodene Thompson.
Ms Medlyn said the pair had five secret sex sessions together – and also with two of Thompson’s teammates – in team hotels and at their private apartments in 2014.
Breaking his silence, Thompson claimed the mother of his son Hendrix only went public with their romps after he refused to pay her $50,000 on top of child support.

Thompson said Ms Medlyn (pictured) threatened she would ‘expose this story’ if he didn’t pay her
‘These allegations, which occurred many years ago, have been raised so publicly in a failed attempt to extort money from me to the detriment of myself and my child,’ Thompson said in a statement exclusively released to Channel 9’s Danny Weidler.
‘This story has no benefit except to attempt to smear my reputation.’
Thompson said he didn’t want to give any more ‘oxygen’ to the damaging news, but felt a responsibility to tell his side of the story to protect his 15-month-old son.
‘Ms Medlyn approached me in June 2017 threatening that she would expose this story unless I gave her a sum of $50,000,’ Thompson said.
‘I refused to pay her this money on the basis that I was already paying her child support as assessed by the Child Support Agency.
‘I love my son and I have been striving to have a relationship with him. Ms Medlyn has made this difficult, however I continue to seek avenues to pursue having a proper relationship with my son.
‘I continue to meet all of my financial obligations to my son and work hard to ensure his future.’

The two are now embroiled in a spat over child support payments, which Ms Medlyn (pictured with son Hendrix) claims have been late
Intimate details of Thompson’s group trysts with Ms Medlyn were published by the Daily Telegraph on Tuesday.
Thompson would send pictures of his teammates so Ms Medlyn could pick who could join the pair in bed.
‘This guy is so keen to f*** you,’ Thompson wrote alongside a picture of a shirtless teammate in May 2015.
That message came after the model had a foursome with Thompson and two of his Tigers teammates in late 2014.
In September 2015, the Maori star asked for another but Ms Medlyn declined – saying: ‘Only you tonight.’
It was that night, on the eve of a Warriors and Bulldogs match where their young son Hendrix was conceived – while one of Thompson’s teammates watched on.
‘It’s about power, fast cash, fit bodies and getting any woman they like. They don’t want to let down the team,’ said Ms Medlyn (pictured) about the NRL’s group sex culture

The blonde’s introduction to Thompson came after her dance group was called to entertain his Wests Tigers teammates following a massive loss in August 2014.
He was not there that night, but a colleague of Ms Medlyn introduced them through Instagram before they began messaging on various social media apps.
The $260,000-a-year star and model soon began sharing a series of flirty messages that included propositions of group sex from Thompson.
With approval from Ms Medlyn for a ‘ganga’, he sent images of his teammates to her so she could choose the others she wanted to join in.
On the night Ms Medlyn says their son was conceived, Thompson told her: ‘Your [sic] going to have to just sneak in up to my room as in just walk up to my room by yourself??’
Breaking his team rules, he snuck her into the team hotel and got intimate as Thompson’s teammate watched on.
Reportedly at the request of the footballer they didn’t use protection and Ms Medlyn claims it was that night that the pair’s young son was conceived.

When Ms Medlyn told Thompson that one of her female friends was interested in a friend of his, Thompson responded by calling the woman ‘pretty’ and suggests a threesome
Following the tryst, Ms Medlyn told Thompson that one of her female friends was interested in a friend of his.
Thompson responded by calling the woman ‘pretty’ and suggests a threesome, to which Ms Medlyn replied: ‘I’d like to watch you do naughty things to my friend.’
A couple of weeks later, Ms Medlyn sent him a message asking him to call her, saying: ‘We need to have a chat.’
The two are now embroiled in a spat over child support payments, which Ms Medlyn claims have been late.
Thompson’s lawyer Daniel McGirr said his client does not owe Ms Medlyn any money.
Warriors chief executive Cameron George said Thompson’s lawyer had confirmed the star player had been making the payment.
Mr George also confirmed Thompson violated team rules.
‘He [Thompson] has breached team protocol which had been dealt with,’ he said.
The NRL said in August it was taking action to change how players treat women by introducing a set of new protocols at the beginning of the 2018 season.
