NRL WAG Tahlia Giumelli shares pictures from inside the luxury ‘lockdown bubble’ in Queensland

Inside the NRL ‘lockdown bubble’: Tom Burgess’ fiancée Tahlia Giumelli shares pictures from luxurious quarantine hotel in Queensland as she isolates alongside her two young children

South Sydney Rabbitohs star Tom Burgess’ fiancée Tahlia Giumelli and the pair’s two children are currently in quarantine for two weeks at a luxury Gold Coast resort.

The NRL was forced to relocate its 16 teams to three bubbles in Queensland last week to escape growing Covid outbreaks in NSW and Victoria, with separate hubs set up on the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast.

And on Thursday, the stunning WAG, 29, gave fans a glimpse into life inside the Novotel hotel in Surfers Paradise, after the family were given special permission to leave their Sutherland Shire mansion to support Tom.

Inside the NRL lockdown bubble: Tom Burgess’ fiancée Tahlia Giumelli has shared pictures from the luxury resort quarantine in Queensland as she isolates with her two young children

Taking to Instagram, Tahlia shared a picture of her almost two-year-old daughter Sophie posing on the balcony, captioned: ‘View for the next two weeks’.

While they’re unable to leave the apartment, the view is certainly something to marvel at – showing the Gold Coast’s beach, beautiful sunset and the hotel’s pool and tennis court.

She also shared another of her youngest daughter, eight-month-old Elodie, watching a kid’s TV show alongside her sister which she jokingly captioned: ‘Also our view for the next two weeks!’

Tahlia also showed off some of the hotel quarantine food the family were given, which appeared to be some sort of meat and pasta dish with a side salad.

‘Balcony picnics while the baby sleeps,’ she wrote alongside the image.

Clearly realising she would need some more entertainment items for the children, Tahlia wrote: ‘Would love some companies on the Gold Coast I could order sensory boxes for Elodie and some educational toys for Sophie please.’

Close to 500 Sydney-based family members will spend the next 14 days at the Novotel hotel, before joining their NRL star partners in their respective hubs.

The league’s relocation to Queensland will cost upwards of $12million a month, and WAGs were only given clearance to fly in from Sydney after the NRL sent detailed applications for each individual.

The family members will stay on different levels of the Novotel hotel, defined by the regions of Sydney they have come from.

Families from Sydney’s south-west will be separated from families coming from the east and inner-west given the restrictions applied to certain local government areas.

The wives, girlfriends and children are not allowed to use the pool and there are three different dining halls for the three groups – which can only be used at different times.

Daily Mail Australia understands some of the families have removalists on standby in the likely event the competition is permanently moved to Queensland, facing two to three months in their new bubbles.

They are subject to Queensland Health’s Covid testing, meaning the state’s authorities will handle any positive cases rather than the NRL.

The women and children are believed to be divided into the same groups as their NRL player partners, who will be based in the three hotels across south-eastern Queensland.

After completing their quarantine they will be able to join them in their teams’ NRL hub.
