There were sad scenes at the NSW Liberal Party HQ with the ballroom of a ritzy hotel in Sydney almost empty as Labor storms to victory.

Not a single MP has been spotted at the convention room at the Hilton about 8pm after expectations high-profile party figures would start rolling up at 7:30pm.

A photo from inside the convention room shows a nearly empty room with news broadcasts on two projectors that are predicting a near-landslide win for the NSW Labor Party.

The sound on the projectors was reportedly turned off shortly after news organisations started to call the election.
