- Peter Wardill and Nano Burslem posed next to Jumping Crocodiles Cruise sign
- Snapped photo drinking beers while waist-deep in crocodile-infested water
- Said they felt safe swimming in the Northern Territory and were no crocs around
The sign warns of crocodiles jumping out of the water, but that didn’t stop two larrikins risking life and limb to pose next to it.
Peter Wardill and Nano Burslem were fishing along the Adelaide River in the Northern Territory on Saturday and couldn’t resist the cheeky Australian moment.
They came across the iconic Original Jumping Crocodiles Cruise sign and waded out into croc-infested waters – with beers in hand.

The frequent-fishing mates said they ‘always felt safe swimming in NT’ and they were squatting in the water to make it look deeper
The pair got another mate to snap the shot of them downing cans of Great Northern beer while shirtless and holding on to the sign in waist-deep water.
‘I thought it would be funny to get a photo next to the sign and then thought even better let’s stir up the people down south so we made it look like we were in really deep water,’ Mr Burslem told Seven News.

The pair fish most weekends and have had plenty of encounters with crocodiles, snakes, and other hazardous fauna
Mr Burslem said the two just had ‘a few too many’ beers but weren’t too drunk to realise what they were doing – he had work the next day anyway.
‘It’s all right because the crocodiles were a kilometre away – we felt pretty safe, no dramas at all,’ he said.
