A Manhattan woman is suing her ex-husband for $4million, claiming he hid his herpes diagnosis from her for years, according to a lawsuit.
Adrienne Vanterpool, 62, alleges Lionel Canton ‘fraudulently and maliciously’ kept his herpes history a secret, not telling her about it until 2014 – four years into their 2010 marriage.
The lawsuit claims Vanderpool was shocked by the revelation and tested positive for the virus two months after learning her ex-husband had it.
She claims 63-year-old Canton admitted to her that he knew he was carrying the virus since around 2005.

‘The defendant’s actions as aforesaid were motivated by evil, reckless disregard, callous indifference and disregard of the plaintiff’s health and safety,’ reads the lawsuit, filed on Thursday in Manhattan Supreme Court.
Vanderpool wants $1million in alleged damages and another $3million as ‘punishment’ for 63-year-old Canton.
Although Vanderpool filed for divorce in May 2016, Canton’s divorce lawyer Glenn Dornfeld said on Friday that the couple’s split was still pending, according to the NY Daily News.
The couple are listed as the owners of at least one building in Harlem.
