Police are hunting a violent fugitive with a set of distinctive tattoos inked across his face and neck.

Matthew McRae, 19, is believed to be in the Masterton area of New Zealand’s North Island.

McRae has a large black tattoo on the bottom half of his face saying ‘NOMAD’, the letters stretching from sideburn to sideburn across his cheeks and nose.

McRae also has what appears to be a drawing face surrounded by flames inked in black on his neck.

Members of the public have been warned not to approach McRae, as he has a history of violent criminal offences.

McRae, who also has a record of vehicle offences, has links throughout Wellington, as well as the Hutt Valley, and Central Districts.
