- President Obama arrived in Shanghai on Tuesday to speak at a business conference and meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping

- Obama’s global trip will continue on to France where he’ll speak at another conference and take meetings
Former President Barack Obama is re-emerging on the global stage with a three-country tour that includes meetings with the leaders of China and India.
Obama’s office says he arrived in Shanghai on Tuesday to speak at a business conference.
He’ll also address an education conference in Beijing before meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Earlier this month, President Barack Obama hosted his first Obama Foundation Summit in Chicago. Obama is re-emerging on the global stage with a three-country tour that includes meetings with the leaders of China and India
Then in India, Obama will speak at a leadership meeting in New Delhi and meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He’ll also hold a town hall meeting for young people hosted by Obama Foundation.
Obama’s trip finishes in Paris, where he’ll speak at another conference and have private meetings.
The tour comes as President Donald Trump is courting the leaders of China and India, as he did during a visit to Beijing earlier this month.
It also comes as Ivanka Trump is in India this week, speaking at a conference in Hyderabad.
Earlier this month, the Obamas held their first Obama Foundation Summit in Chicago, Michelle Obama’s hometown, and President Obama’s post-college city, where he will construct his presidential library.
Both the former president and first lady spoke at the conference, which they were joined at by Chance the Rapper and Prince Harry.
The royal joined the former first family on a school trip, surprising students at a local high school.
Now off to China, President Obama didn’t neglect the big news in the Prince’s life, as he used Twitter to congratulate Harry on his engagement to American actress Meghan Markle.
‘Michelle and I are delighted to congratulate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on their engagement,’ Obama wrote. ‘We wish you a lifetime of joy and happiness together.’
