Official UEFA Champions League PES esport league announced

Konami are the first of the football game creators to announce their esports plans for 2018 with the PES League World tour.

The competition will be the official esports tournament of the UEFA Champions League.

The event will start with offline events December this year and culminate with the finals in 2018 where the players who have achieved the highest points in the ranking will be qualified to fight for the world champion title.

And for the first time ever, there will be a separate co-op category where people will compete 2v2 games of PES.

The Champions League partnership comes as part of Konami’s growing partnership with UEFA, FIFA 18 will not have an officially licensed Champions League but PES 2018 does.

Hideki Hayakawa, President of Konami Digital Entertainment Co. Ltd. said: ‘I am delighted to be able to work with UEFA for this opportunity not only to bring an exciting experience for the participating players, but to also be able to provide Football fans from all over the world an opportunity to enjoy this competition first-hand at the physical events or through live streams.’
