Jurgen Klopp produced a hilarious dugout moment in the final minutes of Liverpool’s 6-1 thrashing of Leeds at Elland Road on Monday evening.

The Reds have endured a shocking season by their standards but victory over relegation-threatened opposition gives them a slim chance of chasing down the Premier League’s top four.

Klopp’s Liverpool has been identified as being one of Europe’s best counter-pressing teams during their recent years of success that has seen them win every major club honour available.

But have suffered a surprising drop-off this campaign as star players struggle for form, injuries mounted up, and Liverpool fell by the wayside in every competition.

However, as Luis Diaz made his six-month return from the treatment room, Klopp also rejoiced at a late snapshot of play that saw four Liverpool players regain possession high up the pitch.

Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Thiago, surrounded a Leeds player and won the ball back before racing upfield in search of a seventh goal.

Klopp clearly loved the tenacity on show and appeared to shout ‘Oh my god’ as he theatrically slumped down in his plush chair before the full-time whistle blew moments later.

The German then highlighted the moment in his post-match interview as he told Sky Sports: ‘The best game we played this season from all perspectives, controlling the game.

‘We forced a lot of errors from Leeds, a really good game, sensational goals, counter-pressing game was our best game close to say decades but long ago.

‘My favourite situation was 92nd minute we lose the ball and four players chase.

‘Outstanding, that is what we wanted. Really happy for that game,’ he added.

Alexander-Arnold also produced one of his best games of the season as the full-back excelled in a hybrid midfield role similar to the way John Stones has been deployed at Man City.

The Englishman produced two assists as Liverpool got their first win in six games and Jamie Carragher expressed after the match that he felt it could be his ‘perfect’ position.
