Oklahoma teenager arrested in fatal shooting sex assault

Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy accused of kidnapping and robbing an elderly couple in Oklahoma, then fatally shooting a 44-year-old man at his home.

Tulsa Police Sgt. Dave Walker says the teenager forced the elderly couple to drive to an ATM and withdraw cash Sunday, then forced the couple back to their home where he sexually assaulted the woman.

Walker says the teen, identified as 16-year-old Deonte Green ran to a nearby home, where a woman and her two daughters were in the garage and preparing to leave.

Police say the Green forced the woman and children back into the home, where he encountered and fatally shot the woman’s 44-year-old husband, Broken Arrow Public Schools geography teacher Shane Anderson.

“The husband fought with Green, and Green shot the husband,” Walker said in a news release. “The husband continued to struggle with Green before collapsing inside the house.”

Green allegedly sexually assaulted the woman during the robbery and robbed the couple of cash and a handgun.

He then fled on foot away from the home where the killing took place.

Walker says 16-year-old was arrested late Sunday on complaints of murder, armed robbery and sexual assault.

Broken Arrow Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Janet Dunlop said she is devastated by Anderson’s death.

“Our hearts are breaking for his family, and we will support them every way possible during this unimaginable time,’ she told TulsaWorld.com.

Tulsa police arrested the 16-year-old, identified as Deonte Green, late Sunday night, Tulsa Police Sgt. Dave Walker said. Amid the Sunday crime spree, Green allegedly shot and killed Broken Arrow Public Schools geography teacher Shane Anderson, according to school spokesman Charlie Hannema.

Green allegedly kidnapped and robbed a couple before noon Sunday in south Tulsa. He allegedly forced the couple, after breaking into their residence, to drive him to an ATM in south Tulsa and withdraw money for him. He then forced the couple to return him to their residence, Walker said.

Green allegedly sexually assaulted the woman during the robbery. He allegedly robbed the couple of cash and a handgun.

He left their south Tulsa residence on foot. About a half hour later, he encountered a woman and her two daughters in the 9000 block of East 67th Street. Green allegedly approached the family with a gun about 12:40 p.m. as they left their house northwest of the Woodland Hills Mall.

Green then forced them back inside the home.

“The husband fought with Green, and Green shot the husband,” Walker said in a news release. “The husband continued to struggle with Green before collapsing inside the house.”

The man, identified as Anderson by Broken Arrow school officials, died at his residence. The assailant, allegedly Green, ran away from the neighborhood on foot after the shooting, Walker said.
