Olivia Colman set to voice the role of a ‘femme fatal who falls madly in love with Homer’ on The Simpsons

And Olivia Colman, 45, is now branching out into animation as she is set to lend her voice to The Simpsons with the star’s guest role being lauded as ‘one of the best guest appearances in Simpson’s history’.
The actress’ role in the American sitcom’s 31st series was announced on Twitter by the show’s executive producer James L. Brooks on Friday.

Sharing the exciting news he penned on the micro-blogging site: ‘Just this second came from recording one of the best guest appearances in Simpson’s history. No kidding, I am flying.’
Giving a spoiler about the British starlet’s character, James continued: ‘Olivia Coleman playing the most down home femme fatal ever who attracts every man she’s ever met but falls hard, harder than she ever imagined, for Homer Simpson.’
Olivia will be joining a stellar line up of celebrities who are voicing characters on the newest season of the much-loved family show including John Legend and wife Chrissy Teigen as well as Aquaman actor Jason Momoa and Breaking Bad’s Bob Odenkirk.

The Fleabag star was made a CBE for services to drama just months after she won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Queen Anne in The Favourite.
But a peculiarity of the announcement didn’t go unnoticed by fans, as it referred to the Peep Show star as ‘Oscar winning actress Sarah Sinclair (Olivia Colman)’.

Olivia’s full maiden name is Sarah Caroline Olivia Colman, and she became Sarah Sinclair after marrying actor Ed Sinclair in 2001.
But the actress goes by her middle name, Olivia, and her maiden name, Colman, professionally.
Fans took to Twitter to comment on the news, with many of them appearing baffled by the announcement.

The actress said she was ‘thrilled, delighted and humbled’ by the honour.
She said: ‘I’m totally thrilled, delighted and humbled to be in the company of these incredible people, most of whom have been nowhere near as visible as I have, but should be – and hopefully now will be. It’s such an honour.’
