She’s the Australian entertainment icon who is currently battling breast cancer for a second time.
And Olivia Newton-John has again espoused the benefits of medical marijuana,saying that it was a ‘healing plant.’
Olivia, 68, made the admission during an appearance on the US Today show, where she challenged misconceptions about the maligned plant.

‘People have this vision from the ’60s of people just sitting around and getting stoned,’ she said.
‘It’s not about that. This plant is a healing plant, I think we need to change the vision of what it is because it helped me greatly and it helps with pain and inflammation.’
Olivia was first treated for breast cancer in 1992, at the age of 43 and underwent a partial mastectomy, chemotherapy and breast reconstruction.

Afterwards, she championed breast cancer awareness and in 2008 built the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne, Australia.
However, the Grease star revealed in May that the cancer had returned ad spread to her sacrum, forcing her to postpone her US tour.
In an emotional interview with Karl Stefanovic on 60 Minutes recently, Olivia admitted that her husband, John Easterling, had been growing the plant for Olivia to consume, admitting that it was a ‘miracle plant’.

‘My husband’s a plant medicine man so he grew cannabis for me and made tinctures for me to take for pain and inflammation and so many other things that cannabis can do,’ she said.
‘It’s been a maligned plant all these years and it really is a magical miracle plant.’
Olivia added that the natural remedy worked for her as she didn’t like taking prescription drugs.
‘It helped me a lot with pain, because, you know, I don’t like taking prescription drugs, so it’s kind of a no-brainer,’ she said.
‘It’s kind and it’s compassionate. It’s what should be available for everybody to use.
