Olly Murs’ muscular transformation fails to impress female fans as shock poll finds they prefer the singer before his jaw-dropping six pack

It must be a fair assumption that most women prefer a man with a six pack, toned biceps and a ripped physique.

But it appears not.

Olly Murs has been showing off his body transformation on social media recently, posting pictures of himself topless and videos of him training.

But his recent change in body type has sparked a debate online between men and women and has revealed a shocking outcome.

A pol online, which compares Olly, 40, before and after his 12-week body transformation, has revealed women in fact prefer his body before.

Out of 4,900 votes, 26 per cent are from women saying they prefer the look of Murs before he lost his weight.

Seven per cent of women say after.

In comparison, 42 per cent of men said they prefer his body after.

And 23 per cent of men say before.

One woman gave an insight into her reasons for preferring the look of him before.

‘We aren’t lying, he’s more attractive to most women in the first picture,’ she said.

‘Maybe it’s because it looks like he’d protect us, pick us up and hug us, take us camping and other fun shenanigans, and just generally be enjoyable to be around.’

Another commented: ‘What he accomplished is super impressive and I’m sure he has his reasons for wanting to do it.

‘I honestly think he looked better originally. It’s not like he was unhealthy – he looks like he was in great shape. On the right he looks aged and just too lean.’

One woman gave an insight into her reasons for preferring the look of him before. ‘We aren’t lying, he’s more attractive to most women in the first picture,’ she said

His coach posted his progress on Instagram, writing: ’12 weeks dedication dieting the marriottnutrion way!! What a transformation’

Mr Murs’s fitness transformation has appeared to come from his love of boxing.

Last week Murs showed himself in the ring with boxer Ricky Hatton training for a sparring session and shared a hilarious clip of the pair training – before the singer gets wiped out.

The star, who comes from a semi-professional football background, said he now has a ‘100 per cent the buzz for boxing, I love it.’ Sparring and punching the heavy bags relieves him of stress, he said.

And this weekend he admitted he was ‘devastated’ after informing fans that he was forced to cancel his Hull and Brighton gigs.

Mr Murs took to his Instagram stories with the sad update after a stomach bug had ‘ripped through’ his band and staff crew.

The singer – who is expecting his second child with his fitness fanatic wife Amelia, 32 – apologised for letting fans down in a lengthy message as he promised them he would reschedule soon.

The couple welcomed their first daughter, Madison, 12 months ago in May and confirmed they were expecting again just last week.

Mr Murs and his bodybuilder partner tied the knot in July 2023 and announced the arrival of their baby girl on April 17.
