Olympia Valance says she’s afraid to get excited over falling pregnant after suffering two miscarriages as she continues to try and conceive with husband Tom Bellchambers

Olympia Valance has opened up about her heartbreaking fertility journey after suffering two pregnancy losses.

The actress, 30, who is married to former AFL star Tom Bellchambers, said she’s now afraid to get excited over any pregnancies due to the past losses she’s experienced.

Olympia previously miscarried twins in 2020, and then recently miscarried a second pregnancy at six weeks.

‘I did not once get excited, because I just need to protect myself. And it won’t be until I reach 12 weeks that I will ever really believe that I’m pregnant,’ she told Stellar magazine.

‘Telling my loved ones was probably the hardest part of all. The people in our lives know how much it means to us, how hard we’ve tried for so long and the disappointments we’ve had,’ she continued.

‘We told them the good news and that the embryo took, while bracing them for the fact that this might not work. So they were very, very supportive. But I know they will have hung up the phone and had a bit of a teary.’

The former Neighbours star and her husband Tom are still trying to conceive, both naturally and through IVF.

In July, Valance revealed that she miscarried twin babies during the Covid pandemic.

'I did not once get excited, because I just need to protect myself. And it won't be until I reach 12 weeks that I will ever really believe that I'm pregnant,' she told Stellar magazine

‘Thomas and I miscarried twins, right in the middle of Covid, which as you can imagine was excruciatingly painful,’ she said in the clip.

‘Since then we haven’t been able to conceive. That would be two years of really trying,’ the actress continued.

‘For any woman or couple trying to get pregnant, there is no worse pain than every month looking down at that negative pregnancy test. Your heart breaks in two.’

Olympia said she was reluctant to ‘go down the IVF path’ as she has ‘never been good with hormones’.

‘Adding more hormones to my raging cycle scares the s**t out of me,’ she confessed, but said she was not seeing a fertility specialist.

‘I want babies and I will do everything in my power to get them,’ Olympia concluded.

Olympia and football player Thomas, 34, were married in June last year.
