Olympian Jana Pittman gives her tips for moving house with SIX kids as she prepares to move into ‘forever’ home – and admits to relocating her family more than 20 times

Jana Pittman claims she’s about to settle into her ‘forever home’ – after splashing out $4million on a different five-bedroom pad in Sydney’s Castle Hill only 15 months ago.

And by her own count, the former Olympian and mother-of-six has relocated more than 20 times over the past few years.

Now Jana has offered up some tips to home owners of how best to cope with the tough task of moving – especially with kids in tow.

Speaking to Realestate.com on Thursday, the athlete-turned-doctor advises parents to get kids involved in the move from the get-go by showing them the new home.

‘One of my daughters thinks it’s a fantastic adventure and starts packing her clothes and toys the same day,’ Jana said.

‘My other daughter is shyer, and takes some more gentle guiding. This move I drove her to the new house and encouraged her to be involved in the decisions and discussions about moving, and after buying the renovation plans. Making them feel part of it gives them some control.’

She also suggested using removalists, and sticking to a budget, because the strain of trying to complete the heavy lifting during a move just ‘not possible’ with kids.

Other tips include pulling in friends to help entertain the kids and guard against any potential dangers while the move is going on.

She also advised it was important to keep kids busy during the relocation.

‘Give the kids a couple of big moving boxes so they can pack their most treasured things and get involved with the moving process in a small way.’

Elsewhere in the chat Jana said the fact that she had moved so many time was down to the demands of an athletic career and, later, professional work demands.

It comes after the SAS Australia star sparked rumours in September that she had split from her husband Paul Gatward.

Jana dropped a hint she’s parted ways with the businessman after opening up about how difficult it has been ‘parenting six kids solo’ on Instagram.

Meanwhile, in March Jana welcomed her twins whom she shares with Paul.

Jana’s brood includes daughters Emily, seven, and Jemima, five, who were born via IVF and through an anonymous sperm donor.

She also has a 15-year-old son, Cornelis, from her marriage to her first husband and former coach Chris Rawlinson.

She also shares son Charlie, two, with Paul.
