A number of competitors are going viral on social media, with some sports fans unable to get enough of their good looks.
Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso set the internet alight this week when she announced her retirement at the age of 20.
But while she may have left the world of Olympic swimming behind, Alonso – who is a student at the University of Texas – certainly has a bright career ahead of her in the spotlight.

With her bombshell blonde hair and sculpted physique, Sports Illustrated has already tipped her as the potential ‘next Livvy Dunne.’

Her social media posts are filled with hundreds of comments, with a split between sports fans praising her athletic prowess and those who are simply there to admire her beauty.

While Alica is grateful that her social media following has given her some great sponsorship opportunities, she’s adamant that sport is her top priority.
‘The training is, of course, the main focus and all other things come behind that,’ she told Olympics.com in 2022.
‘But I also love to do some model jobs or take the people with me on social media. It’s a big hobby of mine and I love to do that. But the main focus is sports.
It’s not just the ladies racking up the likes and followers, with a number of male athletes also going viral during the Paris Olympics.
